George BAKER and family in Barnard, Vermont

I found photos of my 3rd great-grandparents George Albert BAKER and his wife Hannah Melissa SPECHT on, submitted by a 2nd great-grandson of theirs, who would be my third cousin once removed.

This man, Peter, had submitted the photo of Hannah a couple of years ago, and just a few days ago shared her husband George's. He had also shared a photo of their daughter Margaret, who was the sister of my great-great grandmother Jessie and Peter's great-grandmother.

It wasn't until I was looking at these photos side by side that I realized that they appeared to be taken at the same house. Upon reviewing the 1910 U.S. Federal Census record for George and Hannah Baker, I also realized that they were "next door" neighbors to their daughter Margaret and her husband at that time.

In the photo of George, he has his grandson Everett (Margaret's son and Peter's grandfather) on his shoulders. Margaret and her husband had two children in the 1910 U.S. Federal Census: a 5-year-old daughter named Frances, and 10-month-old Everett.

Everett looks to be about two years old in the photo, so the photo can be dated to about 1912. George passed away in Gloucester, Massachusetts on 9 July 1914.

Dating the photos of Hannah and Margaret can't be so precise, but I would say that they were also most likely taken between 1910 and 1914.

Thanks to my distant relative for sharing these images.
